Sunday Adult Studies is now (May 23, June 6, 13 & 20) discussing As We Forgive which is a DVD and book about transformational healing. Those involved in the Rwandan genocide are now being placed back among the villages and villagers where they did their killing. Sunday Studies meets from 9:45 – 10:45 AM in the library on the lower level of the church building. If you are interested in attending, please call the church office to order a book.
Get a sneak peak of our September Lecture Series speaker in one of the book discussions coming up:Jesus for the Non Religious. The Unending Conversations group will be reading Jesus for the Non Religious by John Shelby Spong beginning on Tuesday, May 18. They meet the first and third Tuesdays from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM. They would love to have you join them if you are interested in reading this book over the summer months.
Jesus For the Non Religious. An ecumenical group who meets at Susanna’s Place will be discussing Jesus For the Non Religious and would welcome new members. They meet every Wednesday at noon in SWP104 and will begin this study in July. Watch for details.
Rescuing the Bible From Fundamentalism. Marianne Niesen will be leading a discussion group based on Saving the Bible from Fundamentalism by retired Bishop John Shelby Spong. This group will meet on Monday nights, June 14 - July 26 from 7- 8:30 PM in SWP104.
Wednesday & Thursday Bible Study
Get more out of the Bible than you think is there with retired pastor, George Harper. These study groups have been meeting for years and welcome newcomers to add to the discussion. These morning Bible studies are on summer vacation and will regroup in September. Jung Study Group (ongoing)
This ongoing group welcomes new members with whom they can read and discuss Carl Jung’s works. Meets Thursdays at 12:15 PM in room 200 at Susanna’s Place. Facilitator: Marty Thieltges. This small group is offered in the St. Paul’s vision focus area of “Spiritual Growth”.
Amazing Grace Class. Who was John Wesley? What was the movement called “Methodist?” What is it now? How do the people of St. Paul’s live and grow in God’s love? This is the focus of the Amazing Grace: An Introduction to St. Paul’s and Wesleyan Spirituality class led by Marianne Niesen, Senior Pastor. Anyone who wants to maximize joy, especially in the tough times, will want to take this class. Amazing Grace is generally required for folks who want to join or transfer membership to St. Paul’s. This is a 2 session class which is usually held in room 101/Fireside at Susanna’s Place. If you are interested, please call the church office to inquire about the upcoming dates.
Just for Young Adults!
“Be”- For Young Adults Third in the series of Think/Dream/Be/Do, this class is for twenty and thirty something’s who want to discuss their faith questions with people their age. This DVD includes a number of progressive thinkers offering ideas about things such as prayer and mystery. Marianne Niesen will be facilitating this class which begins on Wednesday, May 19 and runs for 6 weeks. Child care is available if you let us know you need it. Please contact the office to sign up and let us know if you need child care.
Adult Ed Leaders Sought Are you toying with an idea for a class? Do you have a passion in one of our vision areas (Spiritual Growth, Religious Diversity, Interdependence, Peace, Justice, Faithful Citizenship)? Would you like to lead a class but have never led one before and want some help? Do you know you have the gift of leadership, but need an idea for a class?
