Stewardship Team News

by Tom Naegele, Stewardship Chairperson

The Stewardship Team has begun planning for our Fall 2010 Stewardship Campaign. However, even as we plan for the fall, we also express our gratitude for your faithfulness to your stewardship promises. Statistically almost 100% of the amount pledged each year is received by years’ end.  The act of pledging, of making promises, is not only good for the soul – it is clearly good for those who depend on us! So thanks! If you have not yet tried the spiritual discipline of making a pledge, we hope you will consider doing that at some time. You might even talk to a pledger – it really is a wonderful way to grow in your spiritual life.

Great News!  On April 5 – the day after Easter - we finish and celebrate our latest graduates from Financial Peace University.  Over 50 folks have participated in the two classes this church year, and over half have completed all 13 weeks of the course.  We even had several families take the class two sessions in a row … which is a commitment of 26 weeks! This means over 250 people have taken the class since we started offering it several years ago!

East Helena, Covenant and St. Paul’s United Methodist Churches have spearheaded and hosted this year’s class.  Everyone who participated has worked hard to create a plan for their personal goal of stewarding the life and financial gifts that God has provided them.  Your Stewardship Team, along with Bill Hallinan and Roxanne Meury, have coordinated these classes which offer common sense solutions to life’s common challenges - understanding, managing and planning the daily stewardship of our financial resources.   Like Dave Ramsey says “Live Like No One Else….so later…..You Can Give Like No One Else”.  We hope you will prayerfully consider participating in the Fall 2010 FPU class.  Thank you St. Paul’s for supporting this outreach.
