Children’s Ministry

We offer programing for children birth through 11 years old during our 10 am Worship Service and as a part of our Wonderful Wednesdays.

On Sunday mornings, the children join in the beginning of the worship service and are included in a Children’s Message before leaving the sanctuary for Deep Blue, a traditional, liturgical curriculum.

This year, on the fourth Sunday of the month, our children (2nd grade through high school) have been invited by Covenant UMC to join in their class on John Wesley. This class occurs during their 10 am church service. Parents and caregivers are invited to join Covenant for their service. At St. Paul’s, we will still have a children’s message during the service and Kids Word packets. However, there will not be Sunday school on these 4th Sundays.

Wednesday evenings, we gather at 5:30 for a meal followed by enrichment offerings for all ages. On Wednesdays the children receive a Godly Play story, wonder together about its meaning, and respond through artistic expression. Godly Play is a Montessori-based spiritual curriculum created by theologian, author, and educator, The Rev. Dr. Jerome Berryman. Take a look here if you’d like to learn more about Godly Play.

For those children that prefer to stay with their grown-ups during the church service, we offer Kidsword packets with a scripture, activity, and pictures to color. Weather permitting, during the summer, we take the children outside to play on the playground during the 10 o’clock church service.

We are blessed to have two UMC Summer Sleepaway Camps in Montana! Flathead Lake and Luccock Park Elementary, Middle School, Senior High, and Family Camp are all available.

Hello there, and thank you for your interest in Children’s Ministry at St. Paul’s!

My name is Jennifer Ruggles, and I am the Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Here is a little bit about me… I grew up attending Sunday School at St. Paul’s, and trained in College to be a music teacher. I realized I wanted to nurture younger children during this time, where I completed a practicum in a Lutheran preschool and at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch. I have been fortunate to grow and learn through various ministry experiences, and I love encouraging young kids in God’s word.
