Worship & Music

Music at St. Paul’s has a long and rich tradition with many opportunities for volunteers to serve as soloists and ensemble members.

The Chancel Choir, directed by Interim Director, Mike Swisher, sings during the 11:00 service, and rehearses from 9:30-10:30 AM on Sundays.

Special musicians play or sing during our 8:30 service on Sundays. We welcome instrumentalists and vocalists of most any genre or style to play between 1 and 3 pieces during the service. Our fantastic pianist, Fay Buness, is available to accompany.

Jazz Sundays, organized by Don Stone, take place throughout the year, providing special music for both services.

Prayer Leaders and Liturgists are lay members of our congregation who participate in Sunday worship by writing prayers, reciting liturgy, and reading scripture. No experience is necessary, and regular trainings are available. Go to our prayer and liturgists sign up sheet or contact Pastor Margaret to volunteer.

The Youth Ministry

St. Paul’s IN’SYNC needs your help! We need helpers for the 2023/2024 school year! Fill out a Volunteer Application Today. Please click HERE to fill out the IN’SYNC Youth Volunteer Form. This volunteer position is short-term, high-impact, and experience is not required, but welcomed.

IN’SYNC is seeking adult volunteers with diverse skills and the know-how (or we are happy to teach you! Just need a big heart) to hit the ground ready to serve and grow with our youth. Thank you for bringing your expertise and experience to the program where you are needed the most.

The Altar Guild

The Altar Guild keeps St Paul’s decorated with color, flowers, and themes throughout the liturgical year. We have an inventory of items that we use according to the season for the Sanctuary, the Altar, and the church entries. We welcome any who would like to join us to keep these areas fresh with new ideas! Contact Connie Johnson to volunteer.

Tech Team

The Tech Team works behind the scenes with slide projections, sound engineering, and videography during worship and community events. Our state-of-the-art equipment is great fun to learn and use. No experience is necessary—training is provided. Join the team that makes this happen!

Contact Erica Mays to volunteer.

Hospitality

The Hospitality Team seeks to educate and lead by example to encourage all of St. Paul's people to be aware of situations where we can be welcoming to others and to act on our awareness with inclusive behavior. Members of our team often also serve as Greeters, Fellowship Hosts and/or Worship Coordinators. The good part about this team is we usually do not have meetings! We connect by e-mail and phone to coordinate events like our popular quarterly Free Lunches and assist with other St. Paul's special events in our hospitality role.

Contact Marcia Armstrong or Jo Ann Chambers to get involved.

Money Counters

Money Counters count the offering on Sundays after church. St. Paul’s receives love in various ways—one being financial donations. Every week, two volunteers meet in the church office to enter the donations in the online program and prepare the money for the deposit. Time commitment is usually 1 to 1.5 hours. Training is available.

Contact Claudia Davis if you are interested.
